Many families ask us how to get additional lacrosse opportunities outside of our fall and spring seasons.  While the opportunities listed below are not offered, or endorsed, by PYLAX we like to keep our families informed of additional lacrosse training in our area in which some of our players have been involved.

Intrepid is focused on creating a fun and challenging learning environment that encourages players to take risks and find the confidence to achieve their full potential.  They do not believe in tryouts for Middle School and Youth players. Intrepid feels they will face enough instances of tryouts and cuts once they are in high school.  Now is the time to let them grow in their love for the game and improve their skills so they can continue to be an active member of the greater lax community of Western Pennsylvania.

Intrepid hand-selects coaches for their Middle School and Youth Teams based on their ability to serve as good role models, instill values inherent to the Intrepid mission and experience, and their desire to work with players in this age group.  They are committed to continuing to serve all MS and Youth lacrosse players in Western PA who want to be involved in this great sport that has brought so much to the hundreds of Intrepid players who have come before.

What makes Lightning lacrosse leagues any better than the others?

The answer is simple, They care and have the experience.

First and foremost is safety. Lightning Lacrosse has always used real referees and medics. It costs a bit more but is well worth the peace of mind. Off-season is a time to hone your skills, try new skills and get better as a player. It is not time to worry about being blown out by an opposing player.  We promote teach and encourage skill development.

As owners of the company and parents they get "It" -- To them, leagues and teams are not just about getting a check or making an out-of-state corporate office happy. Lightning Lacrosse is not trying to get money for this league to pay for the next thing they are offering.  They truly love this game and want to help everyone get better at it. Lightning also has more experience playing and coaching than other groups. For sure, they are a little bit older, but with that comes experience. Lightning has seen the evolution of lacrosse in Western PA and has helped shape its change. They do not have a big marketing budget to send out those fancy looking emails, and they believe that what is put on the field speaks for its self. Organized, on time and safe.
